Snooker Coaching Frequently Asked Questions

The Snooker Coach currently provides snooker coaching sessions in person at the Ottawa Snooker Club, located in Kanata, Ontario.  We can also arrange in-home sessions for clients with their own snooker table.

The Snooker Coach is proud to offer Gold Accredited SightRight Snooker Coaching.

SightRight Coaching Methods were developed by Stephen Feeney, who has coached more than 45 Tour Professionals over 26 years, including Stuart Bingham, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Mark Williams and Shaun Murphy.  This structured approach to coaching has helped players of all levels develop a perfect pre-shot routine focused on sighting, aiming, stance and cue action.  For more detailed information on the SightRight Coaching Method, please visit the official website at www.sightrightcuesports.com

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education with further concentration in Behavioural Psychology.
  • Former professional squash coach.
  • Former Certified Personal Fitness Trainer (through the American Council on Exercise) to high performance athletes such as:  members of the Canadian National Junior Tennis Team, members of the Canadian National Gymnastics Team, members of the Ontario Junior Squash Team, varsity athletes, bodybuilders and marathon runners as well as fashion models and clients simply looking to start or maintain a healthier lifestyle.

Your initial coaching session will last approximately two hours, where we take the time to get to know more about each other, determine your goals and undertake a detailed analysis of how you approach and play shots.  From there, should you wish, we can work together to develop a structured plan to address areas requiring more focus.

Subsequent coaching sessions typically last about one hour.

The total fee for the initial snooker coaching session (approx. 2hrs)  is $135.

The total fee for each subsequent snooker coaching session (1hr) is $60.

In the event that your coaching session runs longer than anticipated, there is NO additional charge.

The snooker coaching fee covers the cost of the coaching session AND the table time.  There is absolutely no additional cost for your coaching session beyond the coaching fee.

Should you wish to continue using the snooker table after our coaching session ends, you would be required to pay the snooker club for that table time.

Growing up in England & Scotland, I watched my first professional snooker match on live television when I was 8 years old (on a black & white television!) and played my first ever frame of snooker about a year later.

Over the past few years I've been fortunate to watch more than two dozen professional snooker matches live, in-person in England, where I have chatted with a number of World Snooker Tour players and referees.

More recently, at the 2024 British Open, I was thrilled to be in the crowd to watch Judd Trump make his 1,000th century.

The easiest way to get in touch is through the 'Contact Us'  form located on the homepage.  You may also send an email directly to info@snookercoach.ca, or feel free to call at (613) 853-0147.
